Others accused the HGTV celebrities of having another kid to save their marriage. After the couple announced that season 5 of Fixer Upper will be the last, rumors began to swirl that they were pulling the plug due to relationship problems. But Chip, 43, set the record straight during an October appearance on Today when he explained the decision was motivated by their desire to spend more time with children Drake, 12, Ella, 11, Duke, 9 and Emmie Kay, 7.

“The ‘We’re back together sex kid’ never fixes a marriage. Just means one more kid, the marriage is still broken, and now the kid has to do pay for broken marriage sex,” one person commented. Another chimed in: “Having a baby won’t make you better.”

Chip and Joanna, 39, have not yet responded to the criticism. But plenty of fans came to their defense. As one person wrote: “I don’t usually comment but WOW . . . what a way to take a special moment in someone’s life and use it for a mean spirited rant.”
