Mariah Carey declares you should leave your Christmas tree up until summertime

The end of Christmas time means full work days are back in session, and it's almost time to get in the mindset for a brand new year. But perhaps the hardest part about closing out the holidays is getting rid of all the decorations and taking down the beloved Christmas tree.

A few factors can lead to a delay in the holiday spirit removal, and sometimes we just don't have time to escort a ornament stuffed tree out of our home. The big question that plagues our minds is simple: When is the right time to get rid of the Christmas tree?

That was the one question on Ryan Seacrest's mind on Dec. 27, and pop star Mariah Carey -- often deemed as the queen of Christmas -- finally answered that burning holiday question. And Christmas fanatics can rejoice -- the singer declared that the tree should stay up until the fourth of July.

"Dahhling! Not till July 4th!" she wrote in response to Seacrest's tweet.

Carey, of course, is no stranger to the holiday season and spirit. The diva cemented her place as the holiday queen with her classic "All I Want For Christmas Is You," which is the top-selling digital holiday song of all time.
