Carrie Underwood suffers broken wrist after a tumble down steps

Carrie Underwood suffered a broken wrist and minor injuries Friday after taking a fall down step outside her Nashville home.

“On Friday night, Carrie Underwood took a hard fall on some steps outside her home,” her rep said in a statement. “While there were no life-threatening injuries, she was taken to the hospital to be treated. She sustained multiple injuries including a broken wrist and some cuts and abrasions from the fall.”

Fans showered the “Church Bells” singer with get well wishes, and she responded in kind, posting on Facebook, “Thanks so much for all the well wishes everybody…I’ll be alright…might just take some time…glad I’ve got the best hubby in the world…”

Underwood’s husband, Mike Fisher, was out of town at the time and, according to her rep, “was able to make it back into town that night to be with her and she was released from the hospital.”

Due to her injuries, Underwood had to pull out of the Country Rising benefit concert Sunday night at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, the Tennessean reports. Other artists in the lineup include Martina McBride, Keith Urban and George Strait. Proceeds from the concert benefit victims of the Las Vegas shooting, and hurricane victims in Texas, Florida, Puerto Rico and the Caribbean islands.
