'Fixer Upper' star Chip Gaines shaved his entire head for charity

Updated

Chip Gaines' long locks are a thing of the past.

The "Fixer Upper" star shaved off his famously grown-out red hair this week, going fully bald in honor of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. He announced the most on Instagram last week and pledged that "the more money we raise over the next FOUR days, the shorter my hair goes. That's a promise."

"Maybe if you really exceed my expectations...I'll buzz it all off," Gaines finished.

Clearly, the 42-year-old HGTV personality's expectations were exceeded, as a photo shared on Instagram by wife and fellow "Fixer Upper" star Joanna Gaines shows what appears to be Chip rocking a completely shaven head.

"We are leaving Memphis changed," Joanna wrote on Instagram. "Kiddos of @stjude we go with your faces on our minds and your stories in our hearts. Thank you for letting us be a part of your home at Target House. We are cheering you on every step of the way."

The photo shows Chip surrounded by a dozen or so patients from St. Jude rubbing his newly shaved head. As is usually the case, he has a massive smile on his face.

The development comes just over a week after the couple wrapped their final episode of "Fixer Upper." The couple shocked fans when they announced back in September that the upcoming fifth season of their beloved HGTV show would be their last.
