CMA Awards 2017 opening number: Faith, healing and unity with star-studded 'Amazing Grace' and 'Hold My Hand'

It's been a painful month for the country -- and the 2017 CMA Awards perfectly embodied the grief, faith, resilience and unity the community has shown in recent weeks.

The opening number began with a solo acoustic rendition of "Amazing Grace," which allowed Eric Church to take center stage as the crowd reflected on the horrific Las Vegas shooting that rocked America just one month ago.

But the tone quickly shifted as country icon after icon took to the stage for a massive group performance of "Hold My Hand." Reba McIntire, Garth Brooks, Faith Hill and Tim McGraw were among the stars on stage holding hands and singing in unison. Goosebumps everywhere.
