Kevin Spacey reportedly checks into rehab for sex addiction

Kevin Spacey has reportedly checked into rehab for sex addiction following an onslaught of allegations of sexual harassment and assault by a variety of men.

According to The Daily Mail, the "House of Cards" actor is receiving treatment at The Meadows, a $36,000-a-month rehab center in Arizona. It's the same treatment facility that Harvey Weinstein reportedly sought treatment in last month following his own sexual misconduct scandal.

The report alleges that Spacey checked into the facility late last week.

Last Sunday, Buzzfeed News published an explosive story about actor Anthony Rapp's claims that Spacey sexually assaulted him in the '80s when Rapp was just 14. In response to the report, Spacey, 58, released a controversial statement on Twitter apologizing for the incident -- which he said he was "horrified" by but didn't remember -- before coming out as gay.

Many viewed Spacey's coming-out as a thinly-veiled effort to deflect from Rapp's accusations.

In the week since the initial reports, multiple men have come forward with further claims against the actor ranging from reported sexual harassment to sexual assault to attempted rape. Some of Spacey's alleged victims say they were underage when Spacey pursued or engaged in sexual activity with them.

In response to the mounting claims, Netflix suspended production on Spacey's hit series "House of Cards," on which he starred and served as executive producer, before cutting ties with the actor completely.

Last week, a rep for Spacey announced that he "is taking the time necessary to seek evaluation and treatment" amid the ongoing scandal, but didn't mention The Meadows by name.

The facility is a popular choice for embattled stars, as A-listers like Tiger Woods, Selena Gomez and Kate Moss have all checked into the center in the past.

The Daily Mail reports that the center "runs a 45-day treatment program for sex addicts called 'Gentle Path' under which patients undergo counseling and 'expressive arts' to try and deal with their issues," though it's unclear if that's the program that Spacey will partake in.
