'Veronica Mars' actor Brad Bufanda commits suicide at 34

Actor Brad Bufanda is dead at the age of 34 after an apparent suicide, TMZ reports.

The actor's rep confirmed that he took his own life on Wednesday of this week. Lt. David Smith of the Los Angeles County coroner's office revealed to Variety that the actor died of "traumatic injuries due to suicide after jumping off a building."

TMZ added that a suicide note was allegedly found near his body at 1 a.m. on Wednesday with the names of his parents written along with a "thank you" to people in his life.

"We are completely devastated for he was an extremely talented young actor and wonderful, caring human being," his manager said in a statement. "He was reviving his career having just completed two movies, and we are shocked and saddened by his passing. The family would appreciate privacy at this difficult time."

Bufanda's first acting gig was the 1993 karate film "Pocket Ninjas" at the age of 10. He later appeared in popular television series "Rosanne," "Even Stevens," "Malcolm in the Middle," "Days of Our Lives" and "CSI: Miami."

He was also in "The Cinderella Story," starring Hilary Duff.

Bufanda's most prominent role was on "Veronica Mars," starring Kristen Bell, which he was on first the first two seasons at Felix Toombs. He also appeared in the show's film.

Born in Upland, California as Fred Joseph Bufanda III, he was allegedly a practicing Scientologist who briefly pursued a professional basketball career before sustaining multiple injuries.

He had been starring in his own YouTube videos since 2010.
