Sam Smith takes Fifth Harmony along for the ride in dreamy 'Carpool Karaoke': Watch

Sam Smith’s hotly anticipated sophomore album, The Thrill of It All, arrives on Friday (Nov. 3). It’s a nervous time for any artist to share their soul with the world. But Smith isn’t just any artist. He’s coming off a spectacularly successful debut in 2014’s In The Lonely Hour, which was a smash on both sides of the Atlantic and collected four Grammys. So how does he pass those nervous (lonely?) hours until D-day? By taking a ride with James Corden, of course.

If there are any nerves, Smith wasn’t showing them as the Brits talked diets and Ryan Gosling, belted out some of his hits, and welcomed Fifth Harmony on board for a jam on their 2016 number "Work From Home," apparently one of Smith’s faves. He’s such a fan of the U.S. girl group, he dreams of taking a "walk down the aisle in heels" to 5H’s song.

The British soul man went deeper still with his ruminations of a funereal wedding day during the 15-minute segment that included runs through his new hit, "Too Good at Goodbyes," as well as soulful renditions of "Lay Me Down," "I'm Not the Only One" and "Money on My Mind," among other hits. “I want a funeral for my single self before my wedding,” he quipped. "I'm in a coffin, and there's a PowerPoint presentation about my single life... and then I raise from the coffin, and then everyone takes off their black clothes and they're wearing white. And then the wedding begins."
