Mariah Carey’s home burglarized of $50G worth of items

Add Mariah Carey to the lengthy list of celebrities whose Los Angeles-area homes were burglarized this year.

Thieves broke into the pop icon's home at roughly 3 a.m. on Thursday and stole $50,000 worth of items, TMZ reported.

The crooks made off with handbags and sunglasses belonging to the "All I Want For Christmas Is You" singer, but they did not take any of her jewelry, according to the celebrity gossip website.

Carey, 47, was in New York at the time of the break-in. Nobody was at the residence when the thieves entered, and a ladder was reportedly left behind in the backyard.

The singer's security team was not made aware of the burglary until several hours later around 6 or 7 a.m., even though the thieves set off a silent alarm, according to TMZ. Los Angeles police are reportedly investigating the crime.

Carey is the latest big-name star to fall victim to a home burglary this year. Nicki Minaj, Scott Disick, Alanis Morissette, David Spade, Michael B. Jordan and Jason Derulo are among the other celebrities whose southern California homes have reportedly been broke into in 2017.

A woman also allegedly broke into the rapper Drake's Hidden Hills, Calif. digs in April, but didn't take anything other than drinks from his refrigerator.

The same woman was arrested for trespassing and assault on a police officer in July after cops caught her returning to Drake's residence. She spit at three cops after they arrived at the scene, TMZ reported at the time.
