Melissa Etheridge busted for drug possession

Melissa Etheridge was busted for drug possession after a drug sniffing dog discovered something on her tour bus.

Etheridge was busted for having marijuana oil —which she says she used to manage pain from cancer and is legal in California, but not in North Dakota where she was arrested.

The "Come to My Window" singer was smiling from ear-to-ear in her mugshot after being stopped by U.S. Customs and Border Patrol on Aug. 17, TMZ reported. She pleaded not guilty, according to the gossip site.

Etheridge was diagnosed with stage two breast cancer in Oct. 2004 and survived a lumpectomy and five rounds of chemotherapy and radiation but hasn't relapsed since.

She will perform the National Anthem on Sunday at the Chiefs vs. Steelers game to support the "Crucial Catch" campaign aimed to raise awareness about catching cancer early.

The American Cancer Society will honor local cancer survivors during the game.

Musician Todd Rundgren was busted at the same spot in North Dakota for drug possession at a later date, according to TMZ.

Customs and Border Patrol found two vapes and contained with liquid THC on the singer's tour bus on Sept. 9.

He was booked for possession of drugs and paraphernalia.
