Kim Kardashian considered staying home due to 'body dysmorphia'

Kim Kardashian's insecurities about her body got so bad at one point that she contemplated staying home to avoid being looked at.

The reality star — who recently blamed a batch of unflattering paparazzi shots of her in a bikini for giving her "body dysmorphia" — admitted that the critical examinations of her figure by various media outlets earlier this year left her rattled.

"I just am in the house so much that I get so freaked out if anyone like, looks at me," Kardashian said on Sunday's "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" episode. "(It's a) full phobia — I freak out about everything."

"Why do I subject myself to being seen?" she added. "Why don't I just stay at home?"

The reality star also struggled with her appearance when she went to Manhattan's swanky Met Gala this past May, as chronicled on Sunday's show.

"I'm literally going to s--t my f---ing pants," Kardashian says on the show. She later described the moment as a "freakout."

The photos in question were taken in April while Kardashian was on vacation in Mexico. The TV star, 36, first admitted that she'd taken issue with the photos during last week's episode of her E! Network reality show.

"You take pictures and people just body shame you," Kardashian said on the Oct. 8 episode.

"It's like literally giving me body dysmorphia," she continued. "Like, I'm so insecure, I just can't take it."

Her sisters, Khloe and Kourtney, both suspected her insecurities stemmed from that event.

"Kim looked absolutely amazing at the Met Ball … but it seems like the Mexico pictures are just never-ending and it's just making her think about (the Paris robbery) again, (when she) was mocked and made fun of," Khloe said on the show.

Body Dysmorphia is a condition characterized by somebody imagining or exaggerating flaws to an obsessive degree. Kardashian has not specified whether she was actually diagnosed with the medical condition.
