Lin-Manuel Miranda, Lady Gaga and more outraged over Trump's criticism of San Juan mayor

President Trump drew the ire of Hollywood after launching a Twitter attack on San Juan Mayor Carmen Yulín Cruz Saturday.

In a series of early morning tweets, Trump lashed out at Cruz: "Such poor leadership ability by the Mayor of San Juan, and others in Puerto Rico, who are not able to get their workers to help. They want everything to be done for them when it should be a community effort."

He also claimed Cruz, "who was very complimentary only a few days ago," had been told "by the Democrats that you must be nasty to Trump."

The president's outburst comes after the capital city's mayor pleaded for help from the U.S. "to save us from dying" after Hurricane Maria ravaged Puerto Rico. Cruz had previously accused the Trump administration of "killing us with the inefficiency."

Lin-Manuel Miranda, John Legend, Lady Gaga and more stars quickly reacted with outrage and disgust over Trump's criticism on their own social media accounts, with many calling the president out for spending time at his golf club rather than taking action.

Miranda tweeted in response, "You're going straight to hell, @realDonaldTrump. No long lines for you. Someone will say, 'Right this way, sir.'"

John Legend noted that "Trump continues to dominate the shittiest president ever competition," while Lady Gaga wrote, "I [think] it's clear where the 'poor leadership' lies."
