Khloe Kardashian was initially told Lamar Odom died in overdose

Khloe Kardashian and her famous family were falsely informed that Lamar Odom had died when they first learned of his overdose two years ago.

Kendall Jenner revealed that Kim Kardashian texted her the inaccurate news after Kim received an email featuring false information.

"It had said Lamar passed away," Kendall said of the text message during a round-table discussion with Ryan Seacrest for the 10-year anniversary of their show. "And I immediately started sobbing on the plane."

"Then I got the next text came through, saying, 'Actually he's okay, he's alive but he's not doing well.'"

Kim then provided her explanation for what happened.

"Someone made a fake account and emailed me with the wrong information," she said on a pre-taped segment of upcoming show.

Khloe, who married Odom in 2009, was still legally wedded to the former NBA star at the time following their 2013 separation.

She says she was rocked by rollercoaster of emotions after Kim's texts to Kendall.

"I was screaming," she told Seacrest.

"To think and to go through the motions as if someone has passed away is the most traumatic thing to do and then to know they're really alive, it was too many emotions, I think, for any of us to handle."

Odom was hospitalized in October 2015 after he was found unconscious in a Nevada brothel. He spent four days in a coma, and he remained under hospital care for nearly three months before he was released.

Khloe supported Odom throughout the ordeal by regularly visiting him in the hospital, and she even rented him a home near hers after he was released.

They finalized their divorce last year.

The Kardashian 10-year anniversary program airs this Sunday on E! Network.
