Was Jedediah Bila cast off from 'The View' over her questioning of Hillary Clinton?

Is The View’s lone conservative co-host leaving because she put Hillary Clinton in the hot seat?

Jedediah Bila's surprise departure came just days after Clinton appeared on the show promoting her new book, What Happened.

The tough questions on the panel came from Bila, a former Fox News contributor.

“To be fair, it hasn’t just been Republicans who have taken issue with the writing of this book — some Democrats have come out as well,” she said to the former presidential candidate last week on the show. “Former campaign surrogates of yours, former fundraisers and said, ‘This book puts us in the past and we wanna move forward, we wanna figure out where to take this party, how to succeed in the future. And this places us in the past.’ How do you respond to Democrats also coming out in criticism of you writing this?”

“I think they first should read the book,” Clinton answered.

“Secretary Clinton, I’m a conservative. I have read your book cover to cover. I felt there was some tone deafness that I read in the book,” she added.

Backstage after the interview, the New York Post claims "there were a lot of staff [members] who were upset about how that interview was handled.”

"Her departure had nothing to do with the Hillary Clinton interview," a spokeswoman for The View told Inside Edition. "Jedediah asked good questions during that interview, and the producers were pleased with how she handled it."

Bila had no comment.

Meghan McCain is now in talks to join The View, according to reports, after announcing last week that she was leaving Fox News.
