Kim Kardashian drops bombshells about 72-day marriage to Kris Humphries

Kim Kardashian is telling all about her 72-day marriage to NBA star Kris Humphries.

The "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" star appeared with her famous family on the cover of this month's Hollywood Reporter to celebrate their 10 years on reality television. Inside the issue, Kris Jenner, Kim Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian, Kourtney Kardashian, Kendall Jenner executive producer Ryan Seacrest and co-president of entertainment and development at Bunim/Murray Jeff Jenkins all spoke about their time on the show.

While several bombshells were dropped about their personal lives, one of the biggest revelations to come out of the interview was what happened the night before Kim's August 2011 marriage to Kris Humphries.

"The night before, my mom pulled me aside, off camera, and was like, "This isn't it for you. Why don't you go away and I'll handle it?" I felt like, if I pulled out now, everyone's going to think I just did it for the show. Then afterwards, people were saying, 'You have to stay married for a year,' but I physically couldn't do it. When I made the decision [to divorce], everyone said it was made up for the show. Everyone really wanted to take me down."

If you recall, Kim and Kris decided to split just 72 days after. A settlement was reached between the two just last year. The $6 million wedding was filmed for a special on E!, and it brought in approximately $10 million in advertisement revenue.

"There was all this attention on the wedding, and I thought maybe it was just the pressure of the show giving me this anxiety. My friends told me I just had cold feet, but even the producers said, 'You don't seem happy. You don't have to go through with this,'" Kim explained.

When Kardashian finally made the decision to go through with the divorce, she admitted that "everyone really wanted to take me down."

At this point in the interview, executive producer, Ryan Seacrest, discussed the situation from his point of view, recalling what happened soon after Kim's wedding.

"I remember when Kim called me after the wedding. It was just a few days after, and she just didn't feel like it was right. She was very candid and open."

To which Kardashian replied: "Think about this realistically: If it was for the show don't you think we would have found someone that signed off? Someone OK with getting married and getting divorced two months later? If it's for a show don't you think you'd want as little legal trouble as possible?"

Following her dramatic divorce, Kardashian tied the knot with rapper Kanye West in 2014. In a total contrast from her relationship with Kris, she has kept intimate details of her marriage to Kanye out of the public eye.

In the same interview, Kim confirmed that she's "definitely trying" for a third baby, but she neither confirmed nor denied the validity of reports that claim she and her husband have turned to a surrogate.
