'Real Housewives of New York' star LuAnn de Lesseps getting divorced after 7 months

LuAnn de Lesseps' fairytale marriage has come to an end.

The "Real Housewives of New York" mainstay and her husband of seven months, Tom D'Agostino, jointly filed for divorce on Thursday, Page Six originally reported.

The couple got married over New Year's weekend in December 2016 in Palm Beach despite numerous claims that D'Agostino, 50, was openly cheating on de Lesseps. The allegations continued throughout their short marriage as the former countess' "Real Housewives" castmates continued to question the legitimacy of the union.

"He used to live this really nice life in the city," a source told Page Six of D'Agostino. "He's a private person and all of a sudden he was living this crazy celebrity life. He loved the nurse from Connecticut, not the reality TV star." (De Lesseps is a former nurse.)

De Lesseps, 52, confirmed the news on her Twitter account a mere two minutes after Page Six broke the story.

"It's with great sadness that Tom & I agreed to divorce," she tweeted. "We care for each other very much, hope you respect our privacy during this sad time!"

News of the split conveniently leaked in the week leading up to the upcoming "Real Housewives of New York" seasonfinale, and just a few weeks after de Lesseps filmed this season's reunion special. In other words, she didn't have to discuss her divorce during the taped program.

Regardless, the signs were there. Page Six reported last month that de Lesseps and D'Agostino got into a physical altercation at a "glitzy" Manhattan restaurant, though de Lesseps responded to the allegations by saying that her reported slap was simply a "love tap."
