Meg Ryan and John Mellencamp are back together

Meg Ryan and John Mellencamp are totally back on!

The former couple is back together nearly three years after splitting, according to People.

"They have a bond," a source said.

Meg and John were last seen together at the Art Cliff Diner in Martha's Vineyard in May. Earlier in March, they spent some time with each other in New York City.

The reconciliation comes months after Mellencamp told Howard Stern that Ryan "hates [him] to death."

"I think it's because I'm a child. I throw fits, I gripe, I complain. I'm moody. Every bad thing that a fella can be, that's me," Mellencamp added.

The singer also hinted at attempts to reconcile with the actress: "I've done that. She just doesn't want anything to do with me. And I can't blame her."

Well, it looks like one of those attempts was successful, because they're back together! Mellencamp, 65, and Ryan, 55, called it quits in August 2014. A source revealed to People at the time that "distance" was the culprit of their breakup.

Mellencamp moved on with model Christie Brinkley, but their romance fizzled after dating for over a year. He has been married three times, with his most recent wife being Elaine Irwin. They divorced in 2011. Meanwhile, Ryan famously tied the knot with Dennis Quaid, only to divorce back in 2001.
