Joy-Anna Duggar admits she broke one big courtship rule before marriage: 'We're only human'

Joy-Anna Duggar is owning up to a major pre-marriage mistake. No, not that one.

The 19-year-old, who married Austin Forsyth earlier this year after a two-month engagement, hugged Forsyth after accepting his marriage proposal. Of course, that's in direct violation of a key Duggar family rule: Only side hugs are permissible.

Nearby cameramen caught the intimate moment, but Joy-Anna had no idea. "I didn't even notice that they were there," she said during TLC's "Counting On" reunion special. "I thought it was just there, and that was really special."

"We're humans and sometimes we don't always abide perfectly by our rules," added Forsyth, 23. "We try. That was a real hard try."

The couple got engaged in March and unexpectedly wed just two months later, despite reports that they'd initially planned on an October wedding.
