ABC firms up Fall 2017 premiere dates

The last of the broadcast networks to set their fall premiere dates, ABC will get things started a little early in September — slotting the premiere of Dancing With the Stars for Sept. 18, the day after CBS airs the 2017 Emmys.

Premiere week starts in earnest the following Monday, Sept. 25, with the launch of The Good Doctor, with Wednesday and Thursday's lineups also returning that week. The Tuesday block, with returning comedies, freshman comedy The Mayor and dramedy Kevin (Probably) Saves the World (formerly known The Gospel of Kevin), is saved for Oct. 3.

Series trailing the rest of the lineup include Scandal, back Oct. 5 to accommodate a two-hour Grey's Anatomy the week before, and Once Upon a Time. It's Friday move happens Oct. 6, with a two-hour special premiere of Marvel's Inhumans the prior week.
