Politician slams Middletons as 'no different to the Kardashians'

Keeping up with the ... Middletons?

One U.K politician has launched a scathing attack on Duchess Kate's family, claiming that the "Middletons are no different to the Kardashians" because they "behave like film stars."

Emma Dent Coad, who currently serves as the Labour MP for Kensington, also said that she would rather see the Beckham family as royals because they have "made their own money."

"It just shows how much it has all changed," she added.

The brutal comments come after the Middleton family made their presence known at Wimbledon in early July. Duchess Kate's family, which include her parents Carole and Michael and little sister Pippa, were frequently photographed at the tennis tournament at the All England Club.

Back in May, Pippa also made international headlines after tying the knot to billionaire businessman James Matthews. The lavish affair, with the reception located in Carole and Michael's backyard, was estimated to cost around £250,000.

While the Middletons truly became a household name when Duchess Kate married Prince William back in 2011, Carole and Michael were known for their business endeavors well before that. Carole, a flight attendant-turned-business woman, began Party Pieces -- a mail order party company -- in 1987. Michael also reportedly inherited millions from his aristocrat grandmother Olive Christiana Middleton.

Coad's jaw-dropping remarks about the Middletons were part of a speech attacking the royal family. The political figure also revealed that she wouldn't consider it a privilege to meet Queen Elizabeth. In fact, she turned down an opportunity to meet the royal when she visited the scene after the Grenfell Tower fire.

"A lot of the disaffected Tories who are so sprightly around the narrative of Kensington Palace have described the Cambridges as vulgar, which is hysterical really," Coad continued.

Duchess Kate and Prince William have avoided the drama surrounding the speech because they're currently in the city of Warsaw as part of their five-day tour of Poland and Germany. The parents brought along their two tykes, Prince George and Princess Charlotte -- and they looked absolutely adorable. Check out more in the video above.
