Lady Gaga celebrates record 6 Emmy nominations for Super Bowl Halftime Show

Back in February, Lady Gaga emerged from the sky and gave a killer performance of her greatest hits at the Super Bowl LI Halftime performance. And it wasn't just Little Monsters who were impressed: The spectacle caught the Television Academy's attention too. On Thursday (July 13), Gaga, Fox, NFL Network and the rest of the team behind the Super Bowl LI halftime performance received six Emmy nominations.

Gaga's halftime show is up for outstanding special class program against other large-scale productions including the Oscars, Tony Awards and Hairspray Live! It was also nominated for outstanding production design for variety, nonfiction, event, or award special; outstanding lighting design/lighting direction for a variety special; outstanding sound mixing for a variety series or special; outstanding technical direction, camerawork, video control for a limited series, movie, or special; and outstanding musical direction.
