Alec Baldwin ditches the hair gel and razor to hang in the Hamptons -- and looks much better

Alec Baldwin has made countless public appearances in the last year, from "SNL" performances to red carpet affairs. And he always looks the same: Clean-shaven, gelled-up hair, dark suit. Nothing wrong with that. Like this:

But Thursday morning, daughter Ireland Baldwin dropped a bombshell: Alec looks completely different during his downtime -- and, in our opinion, so much better!

A goofy snapshot shows Alec lounging in the Hamptons while wearing "Despicable Me" minion glasses. But the specs aren't why he looks so different: Check out that nice, fluffy hair and sexy gray scruff. Does he not look Clooney-esque?!

Alec's casual salt-and-pepper style fits right in with the breezy summer Hamptons aesthetic, but he could definitely incorporate it into his red-carpet style. We even like the casual Adidas pullover -- although "30 Rock's" Jack Donaghy would not approve.

The Baldwins are having a blast during their Hamptons stay: Ireland has shared a slew of swimsuit photos, including one with Christie Brinkley's daughter, Sailor Brinkley-Cook. (Christie is known to summer on Long Island, just recently listing her Bridgehampton home of nearly two decades.)
