Alexis Bledel returning to 'The Handmaid's Tale' as a series regular in season two!


Pop culture's favorite repressive dystopia just got a big silver lining.

Alexis Bledel will return as a series regular in The Handmaid's Tale's second season, Hulu announced on Thursday.

The 35-year-old actress' guest staring role in the critically acclaimed first season earned high praise from viewers and notched Bledel some early Emmy buzz.

ET profiled Bledel as one of our standout TV performances of the 2016-17 season, where she opened up about one particularly gripping moment (which you can read in full here), and also opened up about the positive reviews her performance had garnered.

"I knew that this was an amazing role, but I certainly couldn't expect such wonderful reviews. I'm certainly appreciative," Bledel shared, noting that at the time, she wasn't sure whether she'd be back for the new season. "I'm very excited to find out what happens to [my character."

Handmaid's Tale will return in 2018.
