Kim Kardashian West knows Caitlyn Jenner will always be a part of her life.
The reality star went on The View on Monday, where she addressed the tension in the Kardashian-Jenner family in recent months over Caitlyn's memoir, The Secrets of My Life, which features critical claims about her ex-wife, Kris Jenner.
"I definitely got upset about it," Kim, 36, told the panel. "In our family, we are always so close and stick through everything."
"Maybe their stories are different, maybe their accounts are different," she added. "But when all of us were there witnessing some things, and seeing things really different, it was just a little surprising."

During the discussion, Kim also admitted that it's been months since the two have spoken.
"To say I don't have a relationship... she'll always be a part of me," Kim shared. "Have I talked to her in the last couple months? No."
Even so, Kim knows that there's no erasing the history the two have together.
"She'll always be my step-dad, and always be a person that raised me, and taught me so much in life," she said. "Stepped up to the plate, took over for my dad when he passed away."

After Caitlyn's book was published, Kim slammed the memoir for being hurtful.
"My heart breaks for my mom because I feel like she's been through so much," Kim told Ellen DeGeneres in April. "[Caitlyn is] promoting this book and she's saying all these things. And I just don't think it's necessary. I just feel like it's unfair, things aren't truthful."
