Adele visits site of horrific Grenfell Tower fire to offer support


The horrific scene of the Grenfell Tower fire on Wednesday (June 14) shocked the UK and the world as hundreds of firefighters raced to extinguish the fast-moving flames that engulfed the 24-story residential tower just in London. At press time it is believed that at least 12 people were killed and 74 injured in the inferno that began just after 1a.m. local time and burned for more than 10 hours in the Notting Hill district.

The tragedy drew dozens of social media posts of support from UK performers and personalities, and according to some eyewitness reports, Adele and her husband Simon Konecki came down to the scene to offer support to the victims. A number of users posted a series of pictures of a distraught-looking Adele reportedly on the scene.

According to reports the singer made a low-key appearance at a Wednesday night vigil for victims and survivors, where she hugged and comforted some of those affected.
