Tonys: Kevin Kline wins third Tony Award for lead actor in 'Present Laughter'

Academy and Tony-award winner, Kevin Kline, won his third Tony Award Sunday night at the 71st Annual Tony Awards at Radio City Hall.

"I would like to thank my wife and my children and my family of actors," Kline said upon accepting his notable award. "I want to thank everybody, we don't do this alone, it's a group effort."

The actor also went on to thank organizations like the National Endowment for the Arts and the National Endowment for the Humanities to which he said, "None of us in this room would be here without."

The actor, who was inducted into the American Theater Hall of Fame in 2003, has now cemented his place as American theater royalty.

Kline won his first Tony for his role in the 1978 production of On The Twentieth Century for best-featured actor in a musical and his second for best actor in a musical for the 1981 revival of The Pirates of Penzance.

The stage actor is no stranger to award shows, having been nominated for BAFTA, Emmys and Golden Globe awards in addition to his Broadway accolades. In 1988, the actor won an Oscar for his role in the critically-acclaimed film, A Fish Called Wanda.

The 71st Annual Tony's Awards are being handed out from New York City's Radio City Hall at 8 p.m. ET.
