Jessica Simpson slammed for photo of 5-year-old daughter in a bikini

Jessica Simpson has come under fire for sharing another "inappropriate" photo of her 5-year-old daughter in a bikini.

In the snapshot, an adorable Maxwell is seen rocking a teeny pink and blue bikini while wearing a helmet next to a scooter and with her hand on her hip in a sassy pose.

"Safety first #MAXIDREW," Simpson captioned the snapshot.

Instagram users were quick to criticize the mom of two, claiming Simpson was sexualizing her own child.

"Protect your children. This is not for social media," someone wrote. Similarly, another user said the photo, which was meant to be completely harmless on Jessica's part, was "not cool."

However, many also came to the defense of the "Public Affair" singer, advising Jessica to "stay away from the haters."

"You people are insane. This is a little girl being a little girl. If someone sees someone other than a child playing then YOU have a problem. Children wear bikinis all the time and you sickos turn it sexual. Get over yourself and find a job instead of being a keyboard bully that has nothing better to do with your day," one emphatic fan wrote.

This isn't the first time Jessica, 36, has stirred controversy over photos of her daughter.

A little over a month ago, Simpson shared a photo of Maxwell in a mermaid costume that showed off her midsection.

However, these photos are only some of the many of celeb kids that have caused controversy on social media. Earlier this year, "Flip or Flop" star Christina El Moussa was slammed for posing in a matching purple bikini with her younger daughter. Similarly, "Teen Mom" star Farrah Abraham also got taken down for her swimsuit snap with her child.

And in a jaw-dropping controversy, Kelly Clarkson was also destroyed by Instagram users after posting a photo of her young kiddo eating Nutella.
