Mel Gibson's son is a model now, because of course

If you've been reading the name "Milo Gibson" lately and wondering, "is that a Mel Gibson typo?" the answer is no — it's Mel's son.

The 27-year-old's name has been cropping up in headlines recently after he signed with Wilhelmina Models earlier this week. Milo's first photo shoot since joining the celebrity division of the agency, which also represents Ewan McGregor's daughter Clara, Steven Spielberg's daughter Destry Allyn and Sean Penn's son, Hopper, was forW magazine. In the accompanying interview, Milo opens up about shrinking away from the spotlight for most of his adolescence, and working as an electrician for five years after his high school graduation before finally embracing a life in front of the camera. He made his film acting debut in 2016's Hacksaw Ridge.

"When you're growing up and you're not pushed in a direction, it makes you feel like if you do go in that direction, it might not be OK," Milo, who has just 2,000 Instagram followers, told the glossy. "But as I got older, I realized that it was my life, and I wanted to act because I love it."

With his rugged, broad face, icy blue eyes and a head of thick auburn hair, Milo bears an uncanny resemblance to his pop (just look at those beards) — no doubt a good sign for his Hollywood future. His next film credit is The Tribes of Palos Verdes, out later this year, which stars Jennifer Garner.

The list of celebrity spawn turned bona fide, agency-signed models is a long and exhaustive one, but to refresh your memory, here's just a few: Brandon Lee (son of Pam Anderson and Tommy Lee); Lily Rose-Depp (daughter of Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis); Willow and Jaden Smith (children of Jada Pinkett-Smith and Will Smith); Paris Jackson (daughter of Michael Jackson); Delilah Belle Hamlin (daughter of Lisa Rinna and Harry Hamlin); Presley and Kaia Gerber (children of Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber); Rafferty and Iris Law (children of Jude Law); Levi Dylan (grandson of Bob Dylan); Sofia Richie (daughter of Lionel).

He might be too old to join Dolce & Gabbana's #DGMillennial crew, but regardless — you're in good company, Milo.
