Miley Cyrus brings 'Malibu' to 2017 Billboard Music Awards

Miley Cyrus brought "Malibu" to live TV for the first time at the 2017 Billboard Music Awards.

Introduced by her father Billy Ray and younger sister Noah (who quipped she was wearing pants "for the first time in years"), Miley delivered a country-tinged version of beachy new single "Malibu."

While her live vocals were every bit as strong and lovely as on the studio version, the arrangement gave the song a heavier twang. Toward the end of the performance, colorful balloons rained down on the audience, proving she's learned a trick or two from Dead Petz collaborations the Flaming Lips even if she's left the experimental stuff behind.
