Cannes Film Festival 2017 Opening Gala: Red carpet arrivals

The 2017 Cannes Film Festival started off with a bang with its Opening Gala on Wednesday night. As expected, Hollywood's biggest stars -- from Elle Fanning to Jessica Chastain -- dressed to the nines.

Supermodel Bella Hadid looked gorgeous as always, but doesn't that dress look familiar? The slinky soft pink gown -- with a dangerously high leg slit -- bears a striking resemblance to the iconic red gown she wore last year.

Emily Ratajkowski rocked a similar style to Hadid's in a champagne-hued silk look. The model wore some serious bling to match her ensemble, which she showed off on Instagram just hours before -- sans clothes!

Hailey Baldwin also wowed with a figure-hugging blue dress with slight peplum detailing, while Elle Fanning looked like a total princess in her ball gown.

The grand affair, which also includes the screening of "Ismael's Ghosts," kicks off the 10-day event in the South of France. While the film festival is known for its numerous movie screenings, we can expect celebs to bask in the Cannes sun and attend glamorous parties in their downtime.
