'Scandal' star Katie Lowes is pregnant

There's another gladiator on the horizon — Scandal star Katie Lowes is pregnant.

The actress announced the happy news while appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Thursday.

"My husband and I — we are expecting our first baby," Lowes told host Jimmy Kimmel with excitement. "It's a boy. We have zero names." However, she joked that her husband, Steve Jobs actor Adam Shapiro, wants to name their son after NBA basketball player Lebron James.

The couple tied the knot in 2012.

Lowes shared that Scandal creator Shonda Rhimes was the first to find out about her pregnancy.

"I told her five minutes from being pregnant," said Lowes, adding that Rhimes told her she "already knew."

When Kimmel asked how the legendary TV exec producer knew, Lowes responded, "I think she's in the editing room with us for hours and [spending] hours looking at my face, and she could tell I either had a really good weekend eating pizza and beer or I was pregnant."

Lowes' announcement comes one day after it was reported that Scandal would end with season 7.
