The breezy track is a de facto love song to fiancé Liam Hemsworth and serves as an ode to their happy life together in Malibu, Calif. It signals a brand new direction for the ever-evolving star and is a far cry from her latest release, Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz, which was an avant-garde album full of psychedelic rock.

Here, we hear a more folksy Cyrus over acoustic guitars and hand-claps.

"I never would've believed you if three years ago you told me I'd be here writing this song," she sings. "Next to you in Malibu."

The accompanying music video for "Malibu" is the perfect visualization for the song and sees Cyrus in various locales in and around the picturesque California city. Clad in a series of white ensembles, from sweaters to bikinis to jean shorts and dresses, Cyrus looks happy, centered and sure of herself throughout.

We can't wait to see what she comes up with next!
