Comedian Jim Gaffigan reveals his wife, Jeannie, underwent life-threatening brain surgery to remove tumor

Comedian Jim Gaffigan revealed that his wife, Jeannie, recently underwent "life-threatening" brain surgery in order to have a tumor around her brain stem removed.

The comedian opened up about the scary ordeal on Facebook on Monday.

"Two weeks ago an MRI revealed @jeanniegaffigan had a large tumor around her brain stem that was life threatening. After nine hours of urgent surgery, the tumor was completely removed. She is now recovering at home. We thank you for your continued prayers," Gaffigan shard.

Gaffigan also shared a photo earlier this week where he posted about his wife's road to recovery. He captioned the photo, ""Mom takes care of us. Now we take of her." The miracle of baby medicine. Thanks for the prayers everyone. @jeanniegaffigan"

The 50-year-old comedian and his wife have been married since 2003 and created his popular TV Land show, "The Jim Gaffigan Show" together. They also share five children, daughters Marre and Katie, and sons Jack, Michael, and Patrick.

Jeannie seems to be on the road to recovery and on Monday she shared a photo on Instagram where she was seen clutching one of her children and kissing them on the forehead. She captioned the photo, "I'm coming back! Thanks for your prayers. I'm alive!"

Hoping for a speedy recovery for Jeannie!
