'The Simpsons' give a scathing review of Trump's first 100 days in office

Updated

No doubt many liberal pundits will provide harsh critiques of President Donald Trump's first 100 days in office, but it's hard to imagine any of them will compare to the savagery of — yes — The Simpsons. The animated Fox comedy published a minute-and-a-half teaser on its official Facebook, Twitter and YouTube pages for the new episode on Sunday, and it's a scathing, dour take on the Trump administration.

It starts with much-maligned press secretary Sean Spicer hanging himself in the press room with a signing reading: "I QUIT," much to Kellyanne Conway's dismay. "I am not replacing him," she says.

Meanwhile, Jared Kushner and Steve Bannon have resorted to literally choking one another (and not in a kinky way), while POTUS himself laments the fact that he occasionally has to read potential legislation instead of just watching his beloved Fox News in his presidential bed. The good news for Trump? In his first 100 days, he has an increased Twitter following and Americans are now allowed to shoot hibernating bears — the second part, sadly, isn't satire.

It's also worth appreciating what The Simpsons did inside Trump's bedroom. He has three books at his side: The Little Book of Big Bombs, Bill O'Reilly's Killing a Good Thing and Florida on $10 Million Dollars a Day. Plus, he's framed the photo of himself playing inside a big-boy truck.

More tough luck for the Dems: Ruth Bader Ginsburg has been kicked off the Supreme Court to make way for Ivanka Trump, who will be selling her signature judicial wear for a pretty penny. The chaos of the Trump White House even affects the Simpson family. Turns out, poor Grampa Simpson is being deported and sent back home. "Where's that?" Marge asks.

"I don't remember!" he responds.

While The Simpsons have been critical of Trump in the past — and in a crueler twist, even predicted his presidency 16 years before his election — this is far and away the harshest critique they've aimed at him. Suffice it to say, expect some nasty tweets directed its way if Trump's at a television screen Sunday night.

The new episode of The Simpsons, "Looking for Mr. Goodbart," airs Sunday at 8 p.m. Eastern on Fox. Watch the Trump teaser below.
