FOX News host goes on 'vacation' after backlash over Ivanka Trump remark

Updated

Another blow to Fox News under a cloud of sexual harassment charges, this time resulting in an abrupt vacation for on-air personality Jesse Watters after this moment.

"I don't really get what's going on here but I really liked the way she was speaking into that microphone."

Watters had been discussing on The Five the viral moment when Ivanka Trump was booed during a Berlin summit dedicated to women in the workplace.

But to New York Magazine reporter Yashar Ali, who first pointed out what he saw as a crude innuendo, Watters seemed to have other aspects of Ivanka's appearance on his mind.

In the resulting social media backlash from others in the industry, Watters says he's taking a two-day vacation.

The perceived gaffe comes just three days after The Five was moved to its new 9pm time slot following the Bill O'Reilly firing.

Watters has since defended himself on Buzzfeed saying, "During the break we were commenting on Ivanka's voice and how it was low and steady and resonates like a smooth jazz radio DJ. This was in no way a joke about anything else."
