Meghan Markle's friend says she has not changed since dating Prince Harry

Lindsay Roth is described by People as Meghan Markle's "best friend," as the outlet explains that the two met in a "Toni Morrison literature class during their freshman year at Northwestern University." People states, "The two became fast friends and have stayed that way for over 15 years."

Roth has now given an interview to the outlet about Chicago pizzerias, The Bluest Eye, and the passage of time. Just kidding. She talked to them about Meghan Markle.

"I don't know many people who are as generous and supportive as Meg is," Roth says. "I think people assume that when someone gains notoriety that they change. But she's still the same girl I met years ago, with the same values and priorities. She's selfless, and that's just a part of who she is and who she was raised to be."

Well, one important takeaway here: Markle's friends apparently call her "Meg."

Another would seem to be: Markle has not changed, as the very high-profile relationship she has found herself in has taken off. No, though, she really hasn't. Roth goes on, "We should all strive to handle the ups and downs of our lives as gracefully, smartly, elegantly, positively, realistically, and graciously as Meg has."

Roth visited Markle in Toronto recently, where she says Markle hosted her and picked out a particular candle to light in the room she was staying in—"a scent that was so me, that she knew I'd love." Roth continues to gush: "Meg has especially developed into an extraordinary businesswoman, actress, writer, and advocate for women and children."

Roth said that she and Markle have a mantra they have found helpful—in addition to "#nobadenergy," apparently.

"There's a motto that Meg and I have consistently come back to throughout the years: 'I choose happiness,'" says Roth. "It's a constant reminder to be self-aware, be uniquely you, be happy and to treat people with respect; to be kind, empathetic and to really learn from those around you in any circumstance . . . Meg does that."

This interview provides us with some new information, but it also leaves us with many questions. Does Harry call Markle Meg?!?! Did she pick out a special candle for Harry that she felt was so him?! And which Toni Morrison book is Meghan Markle's favorite?
