'Flip or Flop' star Tarek El Moussa shares extremely emotional Instagram about cancer battle
"Flip or Flop" star Tarek El Moussa took to Instagram on Thursday to share an extremely emotional and revealing post that addressed his struggles over the past few years.
El Moussa recently revealed that he fought through both testicular cancer and thyroid cancer after being diagnosed with both in 2013. He shared his post on Thursday so that his fans could "truly understand how sick [he] was."

"I thought I would share this with everyone," he wrote alongside a photo of himself. "To truly understand how absolutely sick I was [...] look at this photo and look at my eyes, I was a skeleton. This took a major toll on my physical and mental health. I know many of my fans have had similar struggles and can relate."
El Moussa had kept his battle with testicular cancer a secret, but his thyroid cancer battle was a very public one. In fact, it was actually took a viewer reaching out after noticing a troubling lump on El Moussa's neck for him to receive the initial diagnosis.

"The last 3 years were the hardest of my life, I look back and still wonder how I survived," he continued in the heartfelt post. "I never quit although I wanted to thousands of times all day every day."
Of course, the last three years weren't just difficult because he was battling cancer. The father of two has also gone through a very public divorce from wife and costar Christina El Moussa, with reports of affairs and behind-the-scenes tension taking a toll on his psyche. The star recently confirmed that he briefly dated the family's 23-year-old nanny.

El Moussa ended his post by encouraging any of his fans that are struggling right now to fight through whatever they're fighting.
"For everyone struggling right now from any situation[,] remember [to] keep your head up and don't quit!" he wrote. "There is light at the end of the tunnel, stay strong! T"
