Hoda Kotb won't be raising her daughter, Haley Joy, alone: Who she'll call dad

Hoda Kotb is opening up about how she'll raise her newly adopted baby girl, Haley Joy, in the new issue of People magazine.

The beloved "Today" show anchor revealed this week that she'll be raising her newborn daughter with her longtime boyfriend Joel Schiffman, who she's been dating for almost four years.

In fact, "Haley will call him Dad," Kotb declared.

Kotb admitted, though, that she was a bit nervous to bring up adoption with Schiffman around the same time that she was preparing to move in with him. "I was afraid to even say it out loud, because then it felt so real," she said.

"I said, 'Think about it for a day or a week or whatever.' And he said, 'I don't need a day. Let's get this journey going.' At that point I blubbered like a baby," she continued. "It was like a dam burst."

Kotb said that Schiffman "has been so great" as a father so far and has been "a great influence." Though the 58-year-old financier isn't on the official adoption papers for the couple's new child, there's no doubt that he'll be heavily involved in the adorable little girl's life as he raises her with Kotb.

Haley has recently received a couple of fun visits from the 52-year-old television personality's coworkers, Matt Lauer and Al Roker, both of whom had priceless facial expressions when hanging out with the adorable tot, who was born on Valentine's Day.

"‪If you want an #antidote to everything going on, look into the face of heaven," Roker wrote. "Fell in love with @hodakotb beautiful #HaleyJoy She smiled!!‬"
