Backstreet Boys reveal wild behind-the-scenes antics: 'Justin Bieber couldn't hold a candle to what we did'

The Backstreet Boys are no longer boys -- and they're getting real about the wild behind-the-scenes antics of their early-2000s heyday.

Nick Carter, Howie Dorough, Brian Littrell, AJ McLean and Kevin Richardson sat down with ELLE.com for a group interview, and things got intense fast.

"I'll tell you this," Carter said. "There is some sh-t that AJ and I both did that I'm really glad that social media wasn't around for. Because Justin Bieber couldn't hold a candle to what we did."

McLean elaborated: "Just anything from me being drunk or irate at a club. Or me walking naked down the hallway in a hotel for no apparent reason."

"I remember that," Carter chimed in.

But thanks to the lack of social media, the antics were "just random stuff that never really got out" -- "Thank God," Carter said.

Although he wasn't as wild as two of his fellow members, Dorough revealed he's been subject to plenty of NSFW moments, including the time a fan grabbed his crotch onstage.

"I was like, 'Whoa, more softly!'" he joked. "It scared the heck out of me."

The band, which originally formed more than 30 years ago (!) kicks off its Las Vegas residency this month.
