John Legend schooled Fox's Bill O'Reilly over condescending tweet about reporter Andrea Mitchell
John Legend could not hold his tongue. On Wednesday (March 8), which happened to be International Women's Day, the singer was so incensed by a comment he read by Fox News anchor Bill O'Reilly he had to go all in on the O'Reilly Factor host.
She's not your granddaughter, Billy. She's a seasoned journalist asking important questions. You should take notes. https://t.co/6RrISQgsEo

The incident began when O'Reilly tweeted "Unruly Andrea Mitchell escorted from press conf," a reference to NBC News' veteran Chief Foreign Affairs Correspondent. "The NBC host shouts questions at Secretary of State Rex Tillerson," O'Reilly added. Legend quickly responded, "She's not your granddaughter, Billy. She's a seasoned journalist asking important questions."
Mitchell, who has been a reporter for 50 years, attempted to ask Tillerson a question during a photo op with Ukranian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkinon on Tuesday, inquiring about Chinese threats of retaliation for U.S. anti-missile defenses in South Korea. She was ushered out of the room after making the inquiry.
Legend wasn't the only one who backed up Mitchell for her determined reporting.
This is really great to watch @mitchellreports push for details. One of the hardest working people in television https://t.co/TaJMvaAw7h

Tip of the Day: On International Women’s Day, don’t call veteran, pioneering female journalist “unruly” for doing her job. @mitchellreportshttps://t.co/weROZB6msi

1) Ya can’t call it a “press conf” if no questions are taken
2) We should all be as “unruly” as Andrea Mitchell when public officials dodge https://t.co/Bec5z0uQ9B— Matt Viser (@mviser) March 8, 2017
Mitchell, of course, got the last, best word.
“And that does it for this UNRULY edition of Andrea @MitchellReports” [mic drop] pic.twitter.com/mS19gAdUDq
