'Harry Potter' actor Jim Tavaré in intensive care after serious car wreck
Our prayers go out to "Harry Potter" actor Jim Tavaré.
The 54-year-old star -- who played Tom, the owner of Leaky Cauldron -- is currently in intensive care after being involved in a head-on car crash that's left him with severe injuries. Tavaré suffered a broken neck, 15 broken ribs, a punctured lung, a broken leg and fractured breastbones.
His wife, Laura, took to Facebook to share an update on his health alongside a picture of him lying in a hospital bed.
"Jim has asked me to let you all know that he was involved in a serious car accident yesterday, a head on collision," she wrote.
He appears to be in bad shape in the photo, sporting several bruises on his face alone, but gave his worried fans a thumbs up.
"He's had 2 blood transfusions so far and is about to go in for his first surgery. This is for real, not a movie role. Please hold some good thoughts for him as he fights his way out of this," she continued.
Tavaré, who is best known for his work in "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban," also has quite a career in comedy. He was a finalist in "Last Comic Standing" and was a regular headliner at the Laugh Factory in Hollywood, California.
He grew up in England but currently resides in Los Angeles with his wife.
