Ed Sheeran (accidentally?!) reveals when Taylor Swift will release her next album

Instead of "Thinking Out Loud" during interviews, Ed Sheeran might need to pause -- before he spills somebody else's news!

The singer-songwriter sat down with the BBC this week to discuss his new album, where he shared some interesting tidbits: He doesn't own a cell phone! He burned his foot in boiling water while exploring a volcano! His cats have the flu!

Oh, and Taylor Swift will release her next album at Christmastime.

Taylor may not be thrilled that her friend broke the big news, but Ed seemed pretty confident in his nonchalant announcement:

"Taylor isn't going to be releasing until probably the end of this year," he said. "Christmas is the smartest time to release because that's when everyone buys records."

Even if the update is legit, don't expect Taylor to confirm it anytime soon. The star has been super private about the process -- and just about everything else. Ever since her disastrous feud with Kim Kardashian blew up last summer, Taylor has kept a relatively low profile. Her only big news has been the song "I Don't Wanna Live Forever," which she recorded with Zayn Malik for the "Fifty Shades Darker" soundtrack.

But her most recent album came out in late 2014, which means fans are anxious for new music, and she's not one to disappoint!
