Susan Sarandon hangs with 24-year-old son -- and he's her spitting image

She's not a regular mom, she's a cool mom.

Susan Sarandon, 70, was spotted at Madison Square Garden this week to watch the New York Rangers take on the Washington Capitals. And she brought a great date: Her 24-year-old son, Miles -- who looks just like her! (Give or take a few years, but even so!)

The duo dressed for the occasion, both wearing Rangers gear, but covered up for the chilly stadium. Sarandon wore a letterman-style jacket with decorative patches of "The Simpsons" characters. Her son dressed up his own coat with bottle caps.

Although Miles doesn't have his mom's trademark red hair, the two have strikingly similar faces. He also bears some resemblance to his dad, Academy Award-winning actor Tim Robbins, whom Sarandon dated for two decades. They split in 2009.

Miles hasn't followed his parents' Hollywood footsteps, but he does share their well-known passion for social change. In 2015, he wrote a column for the Huffington Post titled "Is It Really That Strange For a Guy to Wear a Dress?" in which he revealed some personal information about his own sexuality.

"I've never had sex with a man, but I have kissed a few," he wrote. "I am not LGBTQ, but I do identify with the concept of allowing yourself to be interested in the things that you are interested in, despite what the external influence of the world around you encourages you to pursue."

He encouraged readers to get involved with The Trevor Project, an LGBT advocate foundation which honored his mom with its Hero Award in 2012.
