Oops! The biggest Oscar presenting snafus of all time

Don't choke!

There have been plenty of on-stage presenting flubs at the Academy Awards over the years -- but some were more cringeworthy than others.

In 2009, Alan Arkin pronounced Philip Seymour Hoffman's name correctly during his Best Supporting Actor tribute -- just not in the right order. Yikes!

And how could we forget about Terrance Howard's emotional speech? The "Empire" star took the stage in 2015 to introduce the Best Picture nominees, "Whiplash," "The Imitation Game" and "Selma," and he stopped several times to collect his thoughts.

But leave it to Sean Penn to stir some controversy. When he opened the envelope to announce "Birdman," directed by the Mexican-born Alejandro Iñárritu, as the winner for Best Picture in 2015, he also included a controversial quip: "Who gave this son of a b*tch his green card?"

With the 2017 Academy Awards upon us, we're highly anticipating more jaw-dropping moments.

Watch video above for more humiliating flubs, including Zac Efron's major word mistake!
