Just like dad! Robert Irwin makes his debut on 'The Tonight Show'

Updated

Things got wild on "The Tonight Show."

Robert Irwin, the 13-year-old son of the late Steve Irwin, made his solo debut on the late night TV show -- and there were plenty of surprises!

In one sweet moment, Fallon whips out a photo of Robert and his dad playing with an iguana when he was just a little tyke.

The youngest Irwin is a total spitting image of his late "Crocodile Hunter" father, from his appearance to his passion for animals.

"You're just like your dad!" Fallon exclaimed.

Irwin then gave Fallon a little taste of his daily life at the Australian zoo by bringing out a handful of his favorite creatures, including a African dwarf crocodile and a red-tailed boa constrictor. The host had quite the scare when the snake began to squeeze his hand!

The teen then got sentimental by talking about his not-so-typical childhood: "I think I'm the luckiest kid on planet earth," he said about the time he spent at the Australian zoo growing up.

But in what may be the most tear-jerking moment of his interview, Robert admitted how much his appearance on "The Tonight Show" meant to him.

"My dad was actually on 'The Tonight Show' quite a while ago and its really nice to be able to follow in his footsteps," he told Fallon.

Steve appeared on the show back when Jay Leno was still host in 2005. Just like Robert, he also brought along several animals, including an adorable camel!

His 18-year-old sister, Bindi, and her boyfriend Chandler Powell showed their support on Instagram, sharing a slew of fun behind-the-scenes snaps.
