Britney Spears shares Bible verse on 10th anniversary of head-shaving incident
Ten years after her heartbreaking public breakdown, Britney Spears is stronger than ever: Her career has rebounded, she's the proud mother of two boys, and -- it has to be said -- she looks incredible. The pop darling, now 35 years old, took to Instagram on the anniversary of the day she infamously shaved her head in an act of rebellion and distress.
Spears posted a handwritten Bible verse reading "Those who plant in tears will harvest with shouts of joy -- psalm 126:5." In an understated but meaningful caption, Spears wrote, "Love this verse. Something everyone should live by."

Back in 2007, the paparazzi captured every moment of Spears' hysterics. On Feb 16 of that year, she was snapped defiantly shaving her head at Esther's Haircutting Studio in Tarzana, California. After the deed was done, Spears told an employee, "I don't want anyone touching me. I'm tired of everybody touching me."
For the star, then 25, the shocking move was retaliation for years of being prodded with hair extensions and highlights. But other issues were at play, as her close friends and family knew. Spears' then-assistant wrote in an email, "I cannot convince her in ANY way to love herself. ... I cannot save her from herself, nor can I commit her to any type of treatment program against her wishes and will."

After a rocky few years, Spears refocused on her career and family, and the transformation has been nothing short of inspiring. In 2016 she released a triumphant ninth studio album, "Glory," and in January 2017 she received all four wins out of her four nominations at the People's Choice Awards.
