Watch Ed Sheeran surprise an 8-year-old fan, perform 'Shape of You' on 'Ellen'

On the heels of an impressive one-man-show Grammy performance, Ed Sheeran brought "Shape of You" to The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Tuesday (Feb. 14). Although he didn't work his loop-pedal magic, the reigning Billboard Hot 100 chart-topper still had the crowd bopping as he strummed his acoustic guitar.

Sheeran's Ellen appearance marks the third televised performance of his No. 1 hit in just four days (with a stop by Saturday Night Live this weekend as well), but he still seemed happy as ever to be singing it, swaying and bouncing along while he sang.

Prior to taking the mic, Sheeran got the chance to surprise a young fan in a pretty hilarious way. Kai (one of DeGeneres' many child prodigies) brought his charming croons back to the Ellen set to coincidentally sing Sheeran's tune "Thinking Out Loud." Sheeran was watching from the dressing room, but when he heard what Kai was singing he couldn't resist going out to greet the 8-year-old -- even though Kai had no idea Sheeran was behind him almost the whole time.

Once he did finally see Sheeran, Kai managed to keep his cool but was clearly left a little speechless. Needless to say, it was an adorable moment.
