Kate Middleton reveals life lesson she learned from an 11-year-old girl

Kate Middleton got candid about giving back in the the most heartfelt way.

The Duchess of Cambridge gave a speech on Monday at an assembly for Place2Be, a children's mental health charity, to support Children's Mental Health Week. During her talk, she shared a touching story about an 11-year-old girl who was helped by the organization.

"She told me that if you keep your feelings inside, you can feel as though you will blow up like a balloon. But, by talking to someone about them, it can make you feel so much better."

"I thought that was such a clever way of looking at it," she continued. "If we are worried, upset, lonely or angry -- the best thing to do is to talk to someone about it. Whether that is your mother or father, a teacher or a friend."

The 35-year-old royal then continued on to talk about her upbringing, revealing she was "fortunate" enough not to experience serious hardships at such a young age.

"When I was growing up I was very lucky. My family was the most important thing to me. They provided me with somewhere safe to grow and learn," the mother of Princess Charlotte and Prince George said.

Kate, who has made philanthropy an emphasis in 2017 with her numerous appearances, also revealed why she's so interested in mental health -- a question she's asked a lot.

"The answer is quite simple -- it is because I think that every child should have the best possible start in life."

The brunette beauty received a warm welcome at the Mitchell Brook Primary School, where she was greeted by excited school children. She wore a bright red Luisa Spagnoli suit, an outfit that she has worn numerous times before.

This past weekend, Kate appeared with her husband, Prince William, and Prince Harry for their charity, Heads Together. They gave a pep talk to Heads Together runners for the London Marathon when they decided to challenge each other to a little sprint of their own.

While both Kate and William put on a valiant effort, Prince Harry clinched the victory with his brother not too far behind!
