'The Big Bang Theory' star Simon Helberg and wife have message for Trump at SAG Awards amid Muslim ban

Updated

Simon Helberg, who plays Howard Wolowitz on "The Big Bang Theory," hit the 2017 SAG Awards red carpet with his wife, Jocelyn Towne, on Sunday night with a clear political message aimed at President Donald Trump.

Helberg held up a makeshift sign on the red carpet that read "refugees welcome," while Towne had the words "let them in" scribbled across her chest. The pair have been married for 10 years.

The couple's move stands in obvious opposition to President Trump's extremely controversial and much-maligned immigration ban, and continues the trend of protests held across the country this weekend.

The president issued executive order earlier this week temporarily banning refugees and immigrants from predominantly Muslim countries, and Helberg and Towne joined a big group of notable figures that have spoken out against it.

One of those people was Hillary Clinton, who blasted Trump for his move on Twitter when she wrote, "I stand with the people gathered across the country tonight defending our values & our Constitution. This is not who we are."
