Bryan Cranston uses President Lyndon B. Johnson quote to give advice to Donald Trump

Bryan Cranston gave advice from one president to another at the 23rd annual Screen Actors Guild Awards on Sunday night.

Cranston, who picked up the a win for Best Actor in a TV Movie or Miniseries at the SAG Awards, for his role as President Lyndon B. Johnson in "All the Way," used the Texas-bred president's crass words to give advice to President Donald Trump.

During his acceptance speech, Cranston told the crowd, "I often wonder what Lyndon B. Johnson would think about Donald Trump. I think 36 would put his arm about 45 and earnestly wish him success and whisper in his ear something he said as encouragement and a cautionary tale."

And then he looked the audience square in the eye and said, "Just don't piss in the soup that all of us gotta eat."

The off-the-cuff advice had the crowd rolling with laughter.

Cranston's comment was among many of the evening that had a political edge.
